We are can understand the retail industry has been hit by the pandemic which is why I was holding back on my review of the local boutiques until now.

Let’s start with Vertage boutique — Honestly this boutique has some of the best accessories in the game. I was going around Baton Rouge looking for accessories for my sister’s homecoming as she is on homecoming court and for her dance. First off, I was greeted very well and chatted with the sales associate, Isabella. She was very knowledge about the store and even styled earrings to go with the looks my sister had previously chosen. She even supplied a second dress just in case! Rating 8/10, simply because I did not see a lot of variety in the dresses there.

Now, Rodeo Boutique — This boutique was definitely one of a kind. I went in and it was neon everywhere. I mean I get the trend, but it was plastered throughout the store. I quickly scanned and actually found about 5–10 pieces to try on. Two items I came close to purchasing. This was an incredible beige jumpsuit and a structured gold dress. Reason #1 I did not purchase, The Karlie Jumpsuit was overly priced. I checked the brand’s website and their jumpsuits ranged from about $50 — $100. Always check your sources. Unless I am looking at the wrong brand, then I don’t mind any corrections. I would definitely go back and purchase the gold dress if they offered my size.

That was a major issue at this boutique, no extra smalls existed. This cuts out a size group. It was absolutely beautiful. The other item tried out was a romper from a brand I recognized, Elliatt. I received an item from them in my ThredUp box. The blazer romper hybrid was great, but the color combination was a bit much. I also tried the pants, but they were too bright as well. A mix review of this store because it definitely contains excellent pieces from recognizable designers, however the neon/color collection theme is not even near what is currently trending in the fashion industry. Like its fall. 6/10

Eros /August — my favorite boutique by far that I visited. The boutique contained a range of contemporary to luxury designers in the fashion industry. The sales associate were helpful and styled outfits for me to try on, never limiting the number of items I wanted to try on. This boutique definitely had the best fall-styled arrangement and variety. Ranging from a Mother Denim dress to a retrofete fall sequin dress. They also offered online shipping as well! The only downfall of this boutique is the price range. The retrofete dress was marked down to $200, however, this was the only sale item I could find that may fit into a fall edit collection. My advice to Eros/August would be to think of their audience and have certain items displayed from a price range of affordable to more luxury. Online you can find a retrofete for less than $200 on specific websites.

That’s a big takeaway for the boutiques to put in mind. Think of the events that the audience spends the most money on. Include retrofete dresses (full price) but more in the homecoming/prom scope so that when customers come in, they can not refuse and will pay the full amount. I know from experience, I’ve done it. 9/10, only deduction for prices Bella Bella — no comment, except, fakes. Used to be the best boutique in BR in my opinion, now the worst. 0/10

Chattabox — What a lovely lovely place. I highly recommend for homecoming, prom and homecoming court options. They do have limited options, so be careful. Stay updated on their social media and website for upcoming items, sales and past items that may be restocked. I’ve been a fan of Chattabox since high school and shopped there multiple times. You can find Zimmerman, Alexis and more luxury brands. I have to give them a 10/10, because I know they are very specific about their variety and collection so that they remain a luxury boutique and I respect that. They also are very active on social media. Disclaimer: the quality does reflect the price, so definitely recommend for specific occasions. My ranking (best to shop at): Chattabox, Eros/August, Vertage, Rodeo Boutique That’s all the boutique reviews for now! I am looking forward to seeing more and leaving my reviews on here!
